What is Tertulia Andina?

Tertulia can have many associated meanings. The word was originally intended to describe a Roundtable talk or conversation for the exchange of ideas and knowledge sharing. The germans may call it a “Stammtisch”. Although the word comes from a spanish tradition derived from a Roman rethorical exercise, it has acquired a mystical meaning amongst certain peoples of South America. For some, having a Tertulia means opening up a space for deep dialogue between minds, bodies and spirits. In that sense, it is a completely horizontal exercise where the purpose is not to convince but to understand each other, that is, to reach common points and become a unity, even if opinions between the participants may differ at first.

Andina refers to the Andes mountain range, which is the second largest mountain system in the world, after the Himalayas. The Andes mountains stretch along the entire South American sub-continent and have been home to ancestral peoples since pre-hispanic times. For several indigenous peoples, the mountains are a living part of their epistemological system, which allows them to interact with vibrations of greater level, as well as to extract knowledge or even to heal themselves.

We have chosen these two words to represent our shared dream of attaining a Good Life for all the peoples and our Mother Nature. We want you to sit down and have coffee with your friends or with total strangers, whilst you allow the magic of the Andes to enter your body and enlighten your soul. We hope that the premium quality coffee that has been grown along the mystical Andes mountains facilitates the dialogue and knowledge sharing withing yourself and with others. Think not with your mind, but with your heart!
